TOTY 2026 Gala & Sneaker Soirée

On Thursday, May 7, 2026, Plano ISD staff and community members came together to celebrate sixty-nine campus Teachers of the Year from every school at the Teacher of the Year Gala & Sneaker Soirée. The Olympic-inspired evening highlighted the dedication, passion and everyday champion-level efforts that ignite greatness in classrooms across the district.

Guests dressed to impress while lacing up their best sneakers, from glittering high-tops to boldly colored kicks, turning the Plano Event Center into a showcase of personality, pride and school spirit. The fun, high-energy atmosphere reflected our belief that winning for kids means showing up with heart, unity and flair.

The celebration culminated in the announcement of the ten Marilyn Brooks Excellence in Teaching Award winners and the naming of Plano ISD’s 2026 Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year, recognizing educators whose impact reaches far beyond a single classroom. As an extra highlight, award namesake Marilyn Brooks was onstage to personally greet each of the top ten as they walked the stage.
